Gertrude: Hamlet's mother does not seem to be a psychological projection herself, but rather a real and complex character, on whom many of the central ideas of the psycho-drama model hinge. Her relationships with Hamlet and Claudius are central to a Freudian Psychoanalytic reading of the play, which attributes the major conflict of the play to Hamlet's Oedipus complex. |
